Patricia Hagen's new body of work continues her exploration of inter-related systems which are evident in nature on several different scales. She continues to search for the visual language to explore the questions of order and chaos, life and death, by looking at cancer cells, bacteria, viruses, bodily organs, plant forms, and geologic formations. She is interested in looking at the structure of these organisms, and considering their place in our existence on earth. The conglomeration of these forms represent the amalgam of life on earth in it's ever evolving set of systems and the balance necessary to preserve those systems.
Hagen received her MFA from California College of the Arts in 1994 and relocated to Seattle in 2001. She shows at Seattle Art Museum Artist Gallery and Punch Gallery in Seattle, Robert Daniel Gallery in Tacoma WA, and with Marty Walker Gallery in Dallas. She was recently chosen by Alma Ruiz , curator from the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles to be included in the West Coast Edition of New American Painting
